If you want an education for the knowledge rather than the prestige of boasting that you graduated from so-and-so, youtube may become your best friend. You can now take certain MIT (ranked #1 Engineering University) classes by watching videos of the lecture. No traveling, no cost, no nothing. They are just broadcasting classes for the enjoyment of others. I am currently taking 8.02 Electricity and Magnatism, which includes abour 37 one-hour lectures. Just look at the links below and find a playlist that has a class that interest you :)

If you have a college that interest you, try a youtube search, you may find out they are giving away lectures for free!
